Sri Lanka bowed before Afghan bowlers

SL vs AFG: The 3 match ODI series between Sri Lanka and Afghanistan (SL vs AFG) has started. Today i.e. on 25th November the first match of the series was played at Pallekele International Stadium. In which the host team Sri Lanka lost by 60 runs. Afghanistan elected to toss and put on 294 runs for the loss of 8 wickets on the board while batting first. In response to which Sri Lanka were reduced to just 234 runs without playing their allotted 20 overs.

Afghanistan scored 294 runs thanks to Ibrahim Zadran’s century.

Ibrahim Zadran was the biggest batting hero for Afghanistan in the first ODI against Sri Lanka. This player, who came as an opener, batted till the 42nd over. During this, he shared an 84-run partnership with Rahmanullah Gurbaz for the first wicket. Rahmat Shah then added 118 runs along with Ibrahim, taking the front at number-3.

Najibullah Zadran, who came to the crease after Rahmat, scored 42 runs in an explosive manner, facing only 25 balls. Which accelerated the innings of Afghanistan. But Ibrahim, who played the main role, played a brilliant innings of 106 runs with the help of 11 fours. Due to which the Afghan team was able to jointly score 294 runs.

While chasing 295 runs, Sri Lanka had a very bad start. The first blow came in the form of Kusal Mendis on a combined score of just 16 runs in the fourth over itself. After this, Dinesh Chandimal, who came at number-3, was dismissed without any special contribution. Dhananjay de Silva tried to manage the innings but could not stay at the crease for long. The Sri Lankan team’s middle order was falling apart like a house of cards.

Charit Aslanka and skipper Dasun Shanaka could not convert a good start into big scores. But in the end the all-rounder Vanindu Hasaranga (Wanindu Hasaranga) began to attack the Afghan bowlers. He scored 66 runs in 46 balls, but unfortunately he did not get any support at the other end. Due to which Sri Lanka was able to score only 234 runs and Afghanistan won their name.
