Dubai, Nov 25: India remained on top of the Cricket World Cup Super League (CWCSL) despite a seven-wicket defeat against New Zealand in the first ODI of the three-match series in Auckland on Friday.

Brilliant half-centuries from Shubman Gill (50), Shikhar Dhawan (72) and Shreyas Iyer (80) as well as a brilliant innings from Washington Sundar (37) took India to 306/7 in 50 overs.

In reply, brilliant innings from Tom Latham (145 not out from 104 balls) and Kane Williamson (94 not out from 98 balls) and their unbeaten fourth wicket partnership of 221 runs helped New Zealand post their second highest target against India in the match helped achieve.
