Heavy rains kill 165, injure 171 in Pakistan

At least 38 people have been killed in separate accidents in Sindh province, including the provincial capital Karachi, where heavy rains for more than a week have wreaked havoc.

The country’s Minister for Climate Change Sherry Rehman said in a tweet on Wednesday that Sindh and Balochistan have been in the grip of a severe monsoon for the past 13 days. During this period, the rainfall has been 625% and 501% more than the average of the last 30 years, respectively.
